Our mission is to connect campers to nature through a premier program that encourages their personal interests.
NEOC — pronounced nē-äk — sparks and stokes the excitement, discovery, and fun children have while outside and builds their understanding of nature! Additionally, it is a throw-back to vintage summer camps where children explored and played outside at an easy pace and without any technology at all.
Choice is a keystone of the NEOC experience. Our program champions the development of independence by offering choice activities each afternoon. Additionally, NEOC follows the powerful philosophy of challenge by choice. In our safe and encouraging environment, campers are challenged to try activities which may set them outside of comfort zones, but at a level of participation that they choose! No camper is ever forced or coerced to do something they don't want to.
One very special and unique aspect of NEOC is the multi-age play and mentoring built into the program. Whether bug hunting, playing giant connect four, kicking a ball around, or sitting together to talk, it is interest, not age, that guides campers during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. Even more specifically, the two afternoon sign-up periods are available to all campers in 2nd-8th grade. Friends of different ages may spend their three morning periods in age-separated activities, but they can spend their afternoons together if they want.
NEOC is a new camp concept from The LINX Companies, the parent company of LINX Camps.
The History of the LINX Companies
Joe Kahn, a parent of two young children, had a vision for a company that would enable children to learn new things while having fun. In 2005, after countless interviews and discussions with parents, educators, business people, and more, the LINX Companies was launched to provide premier enrichment classes for the MetroWest community.
From the very start, the LINX Companies set itself apart by offering a unique combination of nurturing and growing the confidence and interests of children in a fun-based environment and being able to rapidly respond and innovate. By adding a team of outstanding people, who love working with children, and staying strongly focused on premier programming, the company grew year after year. LINX Theater launched in 2006, LINX Dance Studio in 2008, and LINX Camps in 2009. In 2021, the LINX Companies embraced a new strategic vision, focused on premier summer day camps.
Since its founding, the year-round company office has been located along Linden Street in Wellesley, MA, giving them deep roots in the local community. The LINX Companies takes great pride in the premier camp programs they offer and the support they provide to local PTAs, school performing arts programs, and family-focused groups.
This camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be license by the local board of health.
